Privacy Policy

• You can browse the entire site without an account and without signing in.
• We never take payments and never see your card, address or phone number.
• If you sign in with Google we store your name, email address and profile picture — and nothing else from your Google account.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with the retailers we link to.

If you do not sign in

Nothing that identifies you personally. Deals you save are kept in your own browser’s local storage on your device — we cannot read them, and clearing your browser data deletes them.

If you sign in with Google

We ask Google only for your basic profile: name, email address and profile picture. We never request access to your contacts, files, calendar or anything else, and we never receive your Google password. We store:

• your name, email address and profile picture URL;
• the deals you save, so they follow you between devices;
• the categories you choose to follow, so we can order the site for you;
• when your account was created and when you last signed in.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which sections are used. It records things like pages viewed, approximate location (usually city level), device type and referring site. It is not used to identify you personally, and it is not run on admin pages.

Server logs

Our server keeps ordinary technical logs (IP address, page requested, time, browser) for security and debugging. These rotate automatically.

We keep this deliberately small:

• df_user — set only when you sign in. It identifies your session so the site knows it is you. It is HttpOnly (JavaScript cannot read it), Secure, and expires after 30 days.
• df_oauth_state — a short-lived cookie used during sign-in to prevent request forgery. Deleted as soon as sign-in finishes.
• Local storage — your saved deals when you are not signed in, plus small conveniences like dismissing the install prompt.
• Google Analytics cookies — measurement only, as described above.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party ad trackers.

Nobody, for marketing purposes. Your data sits on our own server. The only third parties involved are Google (for sign-in and analytics) and our hosting provider.

When you click through to a retailer you leave DealFinder and that retailer’s own privacy policy applies. We do not pass them any information about you.

• Delete your account. Email us and we will remove your account, your saved deals and your preferences. There is no waiting period.
• Sign out. Use the account menu. Deals saved on the device stay on the device.
• Revoke Google access at any time from your Google account permissions.
• Clear local data. Clearing your browser data removes saved deals held on the device.

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
